1. Journal Introduction
Graduate Students is an interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to the academic growth and research capacity cultivation of graduate students. The journal aims to provide master’s and doctoral candidates with a “debut platform” for their academic careers, covering all disciplines, including natural sciences, engineering and technology, humanities, and social sciences. It publishes innovative research papers, review articles, and academic commentaries, emphasizing the complete presentation of research processes and in-depth discussion of methodologies. The journal’s goal is to assist graduate students in taking their first step in academic publishing and to lay a solid foundation for their academic careers.
2. Core Positioning and Distinctive Features
The journal positions itself as “the inaugural platform for graduate students to launch their academic journey.” Its distinctive features lie in academic enlightenment, process integrity, and interdisciplinary integration. We pay special attention to innovative research design ideas, detailed methodological exploration, and promising discoveries in the early stages of research. Rather than demanding mature and flawless conclusions, the journal emphasizes the scientific rigor, standardization, and reproducibility of the research process, striving to provide a friendly and supportive first-time academic publishing experience for young scholars.
3. Scope of Submission
The journal invites graduate students and early-career researchers to submit academic manuscripts in the following categories:
Research Articles: Original research findings in various disciplinary fields, including experimental studies, theoretical research, and empirical analysis
Review Articles: Systematic integration and critical perspectives on cutting-edge developments in specific research fields, showcasing graduate students’ literature synthesis and academic insight
Methodological Innovations: Development, validation, and application of novel experimental methods, research tools, or data analysis models
Academic Commentaries: In-depth reflections on frontier scientific issues or constructive discussions and extensions of published research
Research Briefs: Preliminary research findings or research proposals with significant innovative potential but still in exploratory stages
Academic Reflections: Sharing practical experiences and reflections on research methods, academic writing, grant applications, and academic career planning
4. Submission Guidelines
Manuscript Requirements: Submissions should be original academic work completed independently by graduate students or in which the graduate student is the primary contributor. Research design must be scientifically sound, data authentic and reliable, and academic norms strictly adhered to. The journal employs a constructive peer review system designed to enhance authors’ academic capabilities through the review process.
Submission Eligibility: Primarily targeted at current master’s and doctoral students; submissions from early-career scholars within two years of degree completion are also welcome.
Required Elements: Please provide complete bilingual (Chinese and English) information upon submission:
Article title (Chinese and English)
Author information: Names and affiliations (in both Chinese and English) of all authors; the first author must indicate their current status (year of study, major) and provide a brief personal biography
Abstract: Bilingual abstracts (Chinese and English) clearly stating the research background, methodology, key results, and main conclusions
Keywords: 3–5 bilingual keywords (Chinese and English)
Submission System: Submit via the official online submission system: http://tg.scionline2025.com/01/
5. Aims and Vision
The journal’s vision is to become the most trusted academic starting point for the global Chinese-speaking graduate student community. We are committed to building an inclusive, supportive, and rigorous academic publishing environment that reasonably lowers the threshold for academic publication while maintaining fundamental academic quality standards. The journal aims to cultivate academic integrity, innovation, and critical thinking among graduate students, continuously supplying and reserving future outstanding talent for academia.
6. Open Access Policy
The journal strictly adheres to the Gold Open Access publishing model. All accepted articles are disseminated under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Upon publication, articles are permanently and freely accessible on the official website. Any user may read, download, copy, and distribute the articles for lawful, non-commercial purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the original author(s) and the source is clearly indicated.
